CAMP OLIVAShand777, Pampanga, Philippines — Interior Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla has ordered the police to dismantle all private armed groups in the country by March next year.
Remulla, who visited the Philippine National Police units in Central Luzon on Friday, said the PNP must have proactive measures to neutralize armed groups that threaten safety and security of local communities ahead of the 2025 elections.
“Our fight against private armed groups must be relentless. I urge the Police Regional Office 3 to double their efforts to dismantle these groups that undermine peace and stability in our region. We must ensure that our communities remain safe and secure, free from the influence of these lawless elements,” Remulla said.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon region police director, said Remulla’s order is also directed to other regional police offices in the country, especially in areas where private armed groups are seen as hindrance to maintaining peace and order.
Remulla also commended the Central Luzon police for the arrest of the suspects in the murder of a couple engaged in online selling.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the hardworking men and women of PRO3 for their diligence and quick response in capturing the suspects behind the murder of Arvin and Lerma Lulu. Your efforts reflect the true spirit of public service and our commitment to uphold the rule of lawhand777,” Remulla said.
